This is my 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Sport Sedan.   My dad bought the car at a local used car dealership in 1978.  I acquired the car when I was 14 years old.  Since then I have  rebuilt the suspension, overhauled the original engine/transmission, installed new reproduction interior, added Chevy Rally wheels/new tires, and have done much cleaning and detailing.  The car is shown here lowered 3" in the rear.  However, due to some clearance problems, I had to raise the rear of the car up an inch using home made 2" blocks.  The front was lowered approximately 3-1/2" after cutting the springs and installing 2" drop spindles.  I've also added a power brake booster along with disc brakes up front, which include '79 Malibu rotors and '72 Chevelle calipers.  Other modifications include an alternator conversion, relocation of the battery to the trunk, and the addition of a front anti-sway bar.  (Photos-9/1/00)

Here are some shots of  the interior.  The seat covers, carpet, and door panels are new (reproduction), but the headliner is original.  I've also added some gauges and a CD receiver.  (Photos-3/29/99)

Here's a look under the hood.  The engine is the original 283 c.u. backed by the original Power Glide transmission.  It has been bored 0.060" and fitted with a mild Competition Cams camshaft.  The exhaust valve seats have been replace with hardened seats to allow me to run unleaded gas.  I've also replaced the original Rochester carburetor with an Edelbrock 600, added a Pertronix electronic ignition kit.  The engine breathes through a 2" aluminized dual exhaust system with turbo mufflers.
